Cats
The following is written by The Mister. A guest blogger if you will. He expresses our shared opinions, obsessions, compulsions and so forth about our cats. Every last one of them. Enjoy.
The Missus and I have been blessed to have had at least one cat with us for virtually all of our married life – now sixty-some years. At the start, they were of the pedegree Siamese variety. But the last two - rescued - have displayed the genetic makeup of many breeds.
So, I guess you could say that we have been cat admirers. But, beyond that and to the point of this post, we’ve also been observers. Here’s what we’ve observed.
Cats like food. Food reigns supreme, and we’re certain that when they aren’t eating, they are seriously thinking about it
Cats like sleep. Never met or had a cat that didn’t rank sleep as one of their favorite three pastimes (I’ll let you guess what the other two are)
Cats are individuals. Every one’s distinctive - in appearance, preferences, capabilities, and so on. The better you get to know them, the more unique you realize they are,
Cats can be affectionate. But, rarely on demand.
Cats can be indifferent. Despite the wishes of their co-inhabitants. Come-ons and pleas for cooperation often fizzle. Never heard of an obedience school for cats.
Cats are wary of doctors. The older they get and the more clinical experiences they’ve had, the more wary they become..
Now that we think about it, cats aren’t much different from us.
