“TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE”

What a delightful book that is.  A well-crafted and thoughtful memoir of two good men celebrating their life-long friendship.  Well written, well received and at the top of the NYT best seller list for a well-deserved extended tenure.

Now, allow me to introduce you to “Wednesdays With Wendy’s.”

Just, this last week, the Mister and I invited our local family members to lunch. We explained that cooking was definitely not on the menu so we’d pick up Wendy’s instead. We’d get their order, The Mister would go to the drive-thru and VOILA!  Lunch would be on the table when they arrived.

We had a grand time. There was much laughter. Everyone had just exactly they wanted, the Frosties were cold and the french fries were hot.  There was no food prep, no table settings, no concern about “will they like it?” And, absolutely no clean up!!  How cool is that?

On the heels of our great success, The Mister and I are now suggesting that we do a “Wednesdays with Wendy’s” again.  Soon. And dare we dream?? Maybe even once a month?

So now, we wait and wonder.  Does this thing have legs?  Will it fly?  Or was it just a one-and-done kinda thing?   I’m not ready to bet my beloved medium-size chocolate-Frosty-with-extra-sprinkles on such a daring proposal. I will, however, remain hopeful until I know otherwise.
